Driving Safety Course Requirements
You may qualify for dismissal by taking a Driving Safety Course if:
- You have a valid Texas Driver’s License (not CDL).
- You haven’t taken a course in the past 12 months.
- Your speed does not exceed 24 mph over the posted limit
- Your speed is not 95mph or above.
- You’re not enrolled in a course for another court.
- The violation wasn’t in a construction zone.
- You’re a U.S. Military member or dependents
However, you will lose that right if you do not follow these instructions on or before you appearance date:

2. Send these documents:
· Liability insurance card (dated on citation day).
· Copy of your driver’s license.
· 3A Driving Record from Texas.gov.
3. Do not take the course until you get approval from the court.

To file in this court the requested amount cannot exceed $20,000.00. The transaction for which you are filing a case on must have taken place in Childress County or the parties involved must reside in Childress County. To file a civil case there is a $54.00 filing fee. Service fees must be paid as well and they vary between each county. If service is to take place in Childress County the service fee is $100.00.
