Driving Safety Course Requirements

You may qualify for dismissal by taking a Driving Safety Course if:
  • You have a valid Texas Driver’s License (not CDL).
  • You haven’t taken a course in the past 12 months.
  • Your speed does not exceed 24 mph over the posted limit
  • Your speed is not 95mph or above.
  • You’re not enrolled in a course for another court.
  • The violation wasn’t in a construction zone.
  • You’re a U.S. Military member or dependents
However, you will lose that right if you do not follow these instructions on or before you appearance date: 
1.     Pay $146.00 state fees (no personal checks).
2.     Send these documents:
·        Liability insurance card (dated on citation day).
·        Copy of your driver’s license.
·        3A Driving Record from Texas.gov.
3.     Do not take the course until you get approval from the court.

Civil Cases Information
Click the above link to find information and forms to Civil cases this court is allowed to serve.
To file in this court the requested amount cannot exceed $20,000.00.  The transaction for which you are filing a case on must have taken place in Childress County or the parties involved must reside in Childress County. To file a civil case there is a $54.00 filing fee. Service fees must be paid as well and they vary between each county. If service is to take place in Childress County the service fee is $100.00.
